Social Care Farming is the therapeutic, social and educational use of farming practices for anybody aged 9-90 with any mild or moderate additional needs.
A SERVICE AVAILABLE WHEREVER YOU LIVE
In the South East this service has complete regional coverage across 6 counties – Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire & Berkshire. With a network of over 100 sites, you are rarely more than 30 minutes travel from a farm to suit your interests and support needs.
We have been blown away by the beneficial outcomes that grateful parents of participants, schools and others have fed back to us. These benefits are often achieved by a short programme of just 12 consecutive farm visits, one per week.
SUPPORT FROM FARMBUDDIES
- Regional events and WhatsApp group for practising Social Care Farmers
- Free information/one hour visits for farmers interested in offering the service
- Free ‘Find-a-Farm’ service for parents, teachers and others
FarmBuddies was founded in 2008. It is an independent Not For Profit Social Enterprise run by volunteers providing administrative support for all aspects of the Social Care Farming service in the South East.
